I hadn't spotted this fly is tied to such a large hook. It must represent a mayfly nymph on steroids!

The Hexagenia Nymph is a superb choice during mayfly hatches and is an extremely popular choice, mimicking one of the largest burrowing nymphs found in the UK, Ireland, and North America. At up to 30mm long, it’s ideal for stillwaters and lochs where big trout are feeding with confidence.
